Kashmir Itinerary Ideas and Drive Times

Quick answer: With five or six nights, base yourself in Srinagar, visit Sonamarg as a day trip, sleep one night in Gulmarg and two in Pahalgam. Gulmarg is about 50 km from Srinagar, Sonamarg about 80 km and Pahalgam about 95 km.

Our Kashmir itinerary guide has day-by-day plans for 3 to 8 days, and the Srinagar to Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Pahalgam guide covers every road in detail.

Why Book With a Local Travel Agency in Kashmir?

Because problems get fixed the same day. When a road closes, the Gondola stops for wind or a hotel falls short, our team is already in the valley, not in a call centre far away.

There are many Kashmir tours and travels companies. What makes the best Kashmir tour packages, in our experience, isn't the longest list of places; it's a plan paced for the people travelling, with honest prices and one person to call.

  • Clear quotes: every inclusion and exclusion in writing before you pay
  • Private cab with a local driver for the whole trip
  • Hand-checked hotels and houseboats
  • Support on phone and WhatsApp from arrival to departure

Comparing options? The best holiday packages for Kashmir, the best tour packages for Kashmir and the best travel packages for Kashmir all come down to the same three things: where you sleep, how long you drive and what's included. Meet our team.

Kashmir Vacation Packages for Every Season

Spring (March–May): tulips, blossom and pleasant days; ideal for a first Kashmir tour. Summer (June–August): green meadows, rafting and treks; Sonamarg and Gurez are fully open. Autumn (September–November): golden chinar trees and clear skies. Winter (December–February): snow, skiing and Gulmarg's Gondola above white slopes; see our Kashmir winter tour package.

Kashmir holidays work in every season, and so does a package tour to Kashmir; only the plan changes. Every Kashmir holiday tour we run is adjusted for the month you travel, so a package trip to Kashmir in January looks very different from one in June. Kashmir Trip FAQs

Straight answers to the questions we hear most

What is the best time to visit Kashmir?

March to October suits most travellers: tulips and blossom in spring, green meadows in summer and golden chinar trees in autumn. For snow, skiing and winter landscapes, visit Gulmarg between December and February. See our best time to visit Kashmir guide.

How many days are needed to explore Kashmir?

Five or six nights is ideal for the main sights. A popular plan is Srinagar (2 nights), Gulmarg (1), Pahalgam (2) and a final night in Srinagar, with Sonamarg as a day trip. Our Kashmir itinerary guide has day-by-day plans for 3 to 8 days.

How much does a Kashmir tour package cost?

Our Kashmir tour packages start at ₹7,999 per person for 3 nights and 4 days on twin sharing, with hotels, breakfast and dinner, a private cab and sightseeing. Most 5–6 night trips cost ₹12,000–₹20,000 per person; luxury trips cost more. Flights are extra unless stated.

What are the must-visit places in Kashmir?

Srinagar (Dal Lake and the Mughal gardens), Gulmarg (Gondola and meadows), Pahalgam (Betaab and Aru valleys) and Sonamarg (Thajiwas Glacier). With more time, add Doodhpathri, Yusmarg or Gurez Valley.

Is it safe to travel to Kashmir?

Kashmir's tourist circuit is visited by large numbers of travellers every year. Check current advisories before you travel, stick to the main routes, and follow local guidance. Our team is on the ground and in touch throughout your trip.

What is included in your Kashmir holiday packages?

Hotel or houseboat stays, daily breakfast and dinner, a private cab for all transfers and sightseeing, airport or railway pickup and drop, and toll, parking and driver charges. Most trips include a one-hour Shikara ride. Flights, lunch, Gondola tickets, pony rides and local union taxis are extra.

Can I customise my Kashmir package?

Yes. Every package is a starting point: we change dates, hotels, the order of places, the number of nights and add activities. Tell us your dates and budget and we'll send options.

How do I reach Kashmir?

Fly to Srinagar International Airport (direct flights from Delhi take about 1 hour 25 minutes), or take a train to Jammu Tawi, Katra or onwards and continue by road or rail. We pick you up at the airport, station or your hotel.

Are the A, B and C valleys in Pahalgam extra?

Yes. Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari can only be visited in local Pahalgam union taxis; private cabs aren't allowed in. Union taxi fares are paid locally unless we add them to your package on request.

Displayed prices cover on-ground services only: stays, private cab, breakfast and dinner and sightseeing. We can add flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and other cities on request.

How can we travel to Kashmir on a budget?

Travel in the shoulder months (March, late August or November), choose deluxe hotels or a standard houseboat, share one cab within a small group, and pick a plan with breakfast and dinner included. Our 3 nights 4 days Kashmir package is the best starting point.

When and where does it snow in Kashmir?

Snowfall usually comes between December and late February, peaking in January. Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Pahalgam get the most. Apharwat (Gondola Phase 2) in Gulmarg often keeps snow into April or May.

What is Kashmiri food like?

Rich and aromatic: try Rogan Josh, Yakhni, Dum Aloo, the multi-course Wazwan, Kahwa (saffron green tea) and Phirni. Breakfast and dinner are included in our packages, so lunch is your chance to try local restaurants.

What is your cancellation policy?

We keep cancellation flexible. How much is refunded depends on how early you cancel and on the hotels and services booked; your quote sets out the exact terms before you pay. See our refund policy.
